Window Tint FAQ

What does the Tint percentage mean?

Tint percentage refers to how much light can pass through the window film. It’s called VLT (Visible Light Transmittance). The lower the percentage, the darker the tint. 20% means 20% of light is coming into your vehicle.

Do I need to clean my car before tinting?

What tint is legal in Tennessee?

Windshield (Above AS-1 Line)- Tint Allowed Windshield (Below AS-1 Line)- No darker than 70% Sides and Rear Window- No darker than 35%

Can you layer on top of my existing tint?

No. We will not layer film for several reasons. Double layering tint increases the thickness which can cause distortion, haze, and blurry vision. It can also cause adhesion issues such as peeling and edge lifting. It is also much harder to clean the windows before applying a second layer. This can lead to uncontrollable contamination.

Does Tint block heat?

Yes! But how much depends on which type of film. Our 3 film types all block heat! Our carbon film blocks 50% of heat, our ceramic film blocks 75% of heat, and our super ceramic film blocks 95% of heat!

How long do I need to keep my windows up?

Just 24 hours! This allows the film to cure to the window to make sure it doesn't lift or peel.

Do you offer a Warranty?

Yes! Lifetime warranty! Every tint job receives a warranty card explaining what film type you received, what darkness you received, and your lifetime warranty coverage. Just hold onto this card! Your warranty coverage includes peeling or lifting, bubbling or blistering, cracking or crazing, color changes or fading, or visual distortion.

How long does tinting take?

The tinting process typically takes 2–4 hours, depending on the vehicle and number of windows. For the best results, we recommend dropping off your vehicle rather than waiting on-site. Tint installation requires precision and proper curing time, and leaving your vehicle with us allows our technicians to work in controlled conditions, minimize contamination, and complete final inspections without rushing. This helps ensure the highest quality finish and long-lasting results.

No! We will thoroughly clean your windows before applying the tint but we do ask your vehicle have some sort of cleanliness. Excessive dirt/dust can hinder the tinting process. We also ask that you remove child seats prior to your appointment and remove excessive personal items inside the vehicle.

Does it cost to remove existing tint?

Yes! Sometimes removing tint can be harder than installing tint! Removing takes time, skill, and tools/chemicals in order to get the window completely ready for new tint to be installed.
